You can now change the wording of the email job alerts checkbox on your Career Portal forms, along with the consent line that appears beneath it. If your firm has specific language you want candidates to see, you no longer need to settle for the standard text.
Where this appears
The job alerts opt-in shows up on your Career Portal apply, quick apply, sign-up, account, and related forms. On most forms it reads "Send Me Featured Job Updates," followed by a short consent statement about receiving email.
What you can customize
Two optional settings are available in your Job Board settings, directly under Check Send Job Alerts by default:
- Custom Job Alerts Opt-In Label: the text that appears next to the checkbox.
- Custom Job Alerts Opt-In Disclaimer: the consent language that appears below the checkbox.
Once saved, your wording appears everywhere the job alerts opt-in is shown on your Career Portal.
What candidates see if you leave the fields blank
Nothing changes. The standard platform text stays in place:
- V3-style forms: "Send Me Featured Job Updates" with standard email consent language that includes your company name.
- V4-style forms: "Stay Updated with Job Alerts" with notification wording.
Tips for writing your custom text
- Include your legal company name in the disclaimer. The company name is not filled in automatically in a custom disclaimer, so type it out in full.
- Keep the label short. It sits next to a checkbox, so a brief phrase reads best (for example, "Email me new job opportunities").
- Have the consent language reviewed. Consent wording can carry legal requirements. We can set up whatever text you give us, but we can't advise on what it should say, so check it with your own counsel first.
Related settings that haven't changed
- Check Send Job Alerts by default still pre-checks the box for candidates, exactly as before.
- SMS opt-in wording is separate. It is still controlled by Custom SMS Disclaimer Text under Application Settings.
Need us to set it up?
Send our support team the exact label and disclaimer text you'd like to use, including your legal company name, and we'll add it to your Job Board settings. If you leave the fields blank, the standard platform text stays in place.
