Summary
On the evening of October 9, Haley Marketing career portals were hit by a high volume of automated traffic aimed at the job seeker sign-up page. Career portals stayed online, but pages loaded slowly while the traffic was at its peak. Our engineering team blocked the source traffic, and performance returned to normal within about 25 minutes.
What happened
At about 6:30 PM ET, our team saw a surge of automated requests to the job seeker sign-up function across multiple client career portals. The traffic came from anonymized networks commonly used for bot activity, not from real job seekers. The extra load slowed response times on all career portals. Some automated integration endpoints also failed to respond for about 9 minutes.
What we did
Our engineering team found where the traffic was coming from and blocked it at the network level. The block took effect at 6:47 PM ET. Server load dropped right away, and by 6:52 PM ET all monitored endpoints were responding normally.
What you may have noticed
- Slow page loads on your career portal between about 6:30 and 6:50 PM ET
- Spam or junk sign-up entries from this period
What you need to do
No action is needed for your career portal. If you see suspicious job seeker registrations from the evening of October 9, contact support and we’ll help you identify and remove them.

What’s next
We’re putting longer-term protections in place against this kind of traffic, and we’re adding monitoring so we can spot unusual traffic spikes sooner. If anything changes, we’ll update this article.
