We have successfully rolled out Anti-Spam Checks on the Job Board (Career Portal). This update strengthens protections against bot submissions and throwaway-email abuse on job applications and candidate sign-ups—without adding extra steps for legitimate job seekers.
What changed
The platform now applies lightweight, server-side checks on public apply and sign-up forms, including:
- Hidden honeypot detection for obvious bots
- Blocking of disposable and invalid email domains
- A submission-speed guard on applications (instant bot submits)
- Detection of common spam patterns (for example, identical first and last names)
What this means for you
Recruiters and hiring teams
Fewer junk applications and fake sign-ups reach your pipeline. Reporting and ATS workflows stay cleaner with less manual triage.
Support and client success
When a candidate is blocked, they see a friendly, configurable message—not a technical error.
Partners and integrations
Trusted apply paths (Indeed Apply, ZipRecruiter, and other partner integrations) continue to use dedicated server endpoints and are not blocked by these public-form checks.

Job Board Anti-Spam Checks — Update (Aug 19)
We’ve added a Career Portal option for applicants whose legal first and last names are the same (for example, “Thomas Thomas”).
By default, matching first and last names are treated as likely bot traffic and the application is blocked. That still protects most sites. If you have real candidates in that situation, you can now allow those applications without turning off the rest of our spam checks.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Do candidates see a captcha because of this update?
A: No. These checks are server-side and invisible. Captcha remains a separate optional setting.
Q: Will this block Indeed Apply or other partner applications?
A: No. Partner integrations use dedicated server handlers and are not subject to the public apply form checks.
Q: What message do candidates see when blocked?
A: Most bot/email blocks show the Anti-Bot Rejection Message (custom or default). Speed violations show: Please wait a moment and try again.
